Morocco to Compensate Victims of Polisario Kidnappings, Human Rights Council Announces

80 people among the civilian victims kidnapped by the Polisario will soon be compensated. This is the decision of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH).
The National Human Rights Council (CNDH) is preparing to hand over arbitration decisions on August 6 and 7, 2019, for the benefit of several victims or their beneficiaries. They will receive compensation for serious human rights violations committed against them between 1956 and 1999, according to a statement released on Sunday, August 4, 2019.
According to the same source, these cases have been processed in accordance with the standards and criteria defined in the Final Report of the "Equity and Reconciliation" Instance (IER). In total, this operation, which has already mobilized nearly 87 million dirhams, will take into account 624 beneficiaries.
Among these, 39 had submitted incomplete files and have now presented the missing documents, 80 beneficiaries among the civilian victims kidnapped by the Polisario, 28 beneficiaries among the heirs of victims whose fate was unknown and who have presented the necessary documents for the finalization of their files, details the CNDH.
To this list are added 367 beneficiaries belonging to the group of Ahermoumou students, who filed their files with the IER, and finally 110 victims or beneficiaries who benefited from social integration.
