Morocco Boosts Air Force with $62 Billion Pentagon Deal for 24 F-16 Fighters

Morocco’s purchase of several F-16 multirole combat aircraft has just been approved by the Pentagon. Lockheed Martin is the supplier.
The Pentagon has secured a $62 billion contract with Lockheed Martin for the construction of 90 F-16 (fighter) aircraft, according to the U.S. State Department website. 24 of these combat aircraft are destined for Morocco, while the remaining 64 are for Taiwan.
With the acquisition of these latest generation aircraft, the kingdom will not only strengthen its air force, but also continue the modernization of its military air fleet.
