US to Deliver 25 F-16 Fighter Jets to Morocco in Major Military Aid Deal

Morocco is about to receive a new batch of F-16 fighter jets as part of the US Military Assistance Program (EDA), which will allow the Kingdom to benefit from the surplus of US defense equipment. It is the American firm Lockheed Martin that announced the news.
The company indicated on its website that the new squadron would be sent directly to the Royal Air Force School in Marrakech.
This grant, according to Barlamane, is part of the largest military agreement in the history of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), for a budget of $3.87 billion.
This allows the acquisition of 25 F-16 fighter jets and the development of 23 Moroccan combat aircraft of the same type.
Morocco’s military spending reached nearly $48 billion between 2005 and 2015, the same source recalls, indicating that over the past decade, Morocco has strengthened its naval forces and provided its army with sophisticated vehicles.
