Morocco Bolsters Military with Oshkosh Defense Heavy Equipment Transporters
Morocco is strengthening its military capabilities by acquiring heavy-duty transport tractors of American manufacture.
Oshkosh Defense, a subsidiary of Oshkosh Corporation, announced that it has received an order to provide Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) A1 tractors and 635NL trailers to Optimum Vehicle Logistics, the exclusive distributor of the brand in Morocco. These vehicles will be destined for the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces.
The HET A1 tractor is capable of transporting the largest military equipment, such as tanks, armored vehicles, and recovery vehicles, over long distances, as well as locally. It also plays an important role in the evacuation of this equipment for maintenance.
This acquisition is part of the modernization of Morocco’s M1 Abrams tanks, as highlighted by Pat Williams, director of programs at Oshkosh Defense, who expressed his satisfaction in collaborating with Optimum Vehicle Logistics and Morocco to strengthen their military capabilities and improve interoperability with allied forces.
The delivery of these heavy-duty transport tractors is scheduled for the summer of 2025.
