Morocco Blocks Promotions for 50 Officials in Urban Planning Scandal

The Ministry of the Interior has blocked the advancement to higher ranks of 50 senior officials. They are accused of having covered up offenses related to urban planning.
Secretaries general, directors of general affairs, pachas, district presidents and caids are on the list of 50 senior officials who will no longer see any promotion, reports Assabah. This sanction is justified by the fact that these officials did not report offenses related to urban planning.
The Ministry of the Interior has held 18 disciplinary councils over the past two years to examine more than 70 cases of senior officials. In this batch, 50 led to sanctions, including 10 permanent dismissals. These officials have trampled on the administrative rules in force.
In addition to this ban on advancement to higher ranks, the Ministry of the Interior has transferred these officials to other provinces. Similarly, some pachas, who have become district presidents, or district presidents, have been demoted. They now hold the position of caid.
