Morocco Begins Repatriation of 200 Nationals Stranded in Melilla Due to COVID-19 Border Closure

The Moroccans stranded in Melilla can breathe a sigh of relief. The Moroccan authorities have started this Friday an operation to repatriate some of them.
Nearly 200 Moroccans out of the 500 stranded for nearly 2 months in Melilla will return home as early as this Friday. They have been stranded since Morocco decided to close its borders for an effective fight against the spread of the coronavirus. Through various actions, these Moroccan nationals have called on the Moroccan authorities to organize their repatriation, especially since the living conditions on site are very difficult.
A few days ago, they had expressed their intention to return to the kingdom, even if it meant having to remain confined for several weeks.
