Morocco to Begin COVID-19 Vaccinations for Doctors on December 7

According to an internal source at the Ibn Rochd University Hospital Center (CHU) in Casablanca, private sector doctors in the Casablanca-Settat region and staff working in their services will be vaccinated as early as this Monday. The information was confirmed by the National Order of Physicians of Morocco.

In preparation for the start of the operation, private sector doctors have been asked to fill out and submit a form containing their personal information (name, first name, function, ID number, age, gender, phone) as well as that of their staff (nurses, assistants) as soon as possible.

According to Dr. Said Afif, President of the Moroccan Society of Medical Sciences, the launch of the operation will take place at the Faculty of Medicine in Casablanca. Pharmacists, biologists and other specialties are also affected by this operation. The supervisory ministry and its affiliated departments will take care of public sector doctors and health personnel.

On Friday, a meeting of the National Technical Vaccination Committee, devoted to scientific issues in preparation for the first phase of the vaccination campaign, was held in the presence of the Minister of Health, Khalid Aït Taleb, and all stakeholders, to inquire about the preparations and progress of this project.

Dr. Nabila Rmili, Regional Director of Health in Casablanca-Settat, had indicated that 28,000 professionals are affected by this first vaccination operation.
