Moroccan Doctors Face Higher COVID-19 Mortality Rate as Cases Rise Among Health Workers

The coronavirus has claimed the lives of 60 Moroccan doctors out of 23,000, a mortality rate of 0.02%.
Comparing this rate to that recorded in the population (0.015%) shows that Covid-19 kills more doctors. During a seminar, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health, Abdelilah Boutaleb, said that more than 331 health professionals have been infected with the coronavirus. According to him, the number of deaths will continue to rise.
To reverse this trend, the Secretary General of the Independent Union of Public Sector Physicians, El Mountadar Alaoui, calls on the competent authorities to redouble their efforts in the fight against the virus. Citizens must, he adds, support health professionals by strictly respecting preventive measures. This will help to relieve the hospitals.
With the epidemiological situation in the kingdom far from rosy, health professionals are pinning all their hopes on the anti-Covid vaccination campaign ordered by King Mohammed VI. This operation will start in a few days.
