Morocco Bans Ministers and Officials from Foreign Travel to Boost Domestic Tourism

Moroccan ministers are not allowed to spend their vacations abroad this year. This is the decision made by the head of government, Saâdeddine El Othmani.
In addition to the members of the government council, the senior officials, personnel of the administration and public institutions as well as the members of the local authorities are concerned by this decision.
This decision taken by the head of government aims to boost a new dynamic to the Moroccan tourism industry, which has been severely affected by the health crisis related to the coronavirus. Thus, the officials concerned are invited to spend their vacations exclusively in Morocco.
In addition, Saâdeddine El Othmani recommends the holding of seminars, conferences or other events organized by ministries, state or private companies within tourist establishments in the country.
