Morocco’s Atlas Lions Receive Outpouring of Support After Shock CAN 2023 Exit

Several Moroccan celebrities have expressed their solidarity with the Atlas Lions, after their elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations by South Africa.
Singer Latifa Râafat saluted the performance of the Moroccan players who did not disappoint, despite the obvious injustice of the refereeing throughout this round of 16 match. "They could not do more with this obvious bias that we experienced in the match on the part of the referees and the terrible psychological pressures that we suffered with them... The national team will always be in our hearts and always at the top, no consolation for the envious," she posted on her Instagram account.
Pop star Saad Lamjarred also expressed his "unwavering" support for the Atlas Lions. "Our support for our national team is unwavering, the many moments that have shone with joy on our faces, especially during the World Cup and other matches, will remain etched in our memory," he said on his social networks. "We love you and we are always proud of you... Morocco...", actress Souad Khayi wrote in the caption of a photo of the Moroccan players after their elimination, which she posted on her social networks.
Singer Manal Benchlikha also reacted to the early elimination of the Atlas Lions from the 2023 CAN Côte d’Ivoire. "With you in good and bad times, always proud of you," she said in a post.
