Morocco Coach Regragui’s Future in Question After Shock AFCON Exit

Following the surprise elimination of the Moroccan team, last Tuesday, in the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, the fate of Walid Regragui must be decided in the coming days.
An important meeting is scheduled for next week between the national team coach, Walid Regragui, and the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, following the elimination of the Atlas Lions from the Africa Cup of Nations.
In all likelihood, the President of the FRMF should keep the coach at the head of the Atlas Lions and set objectives for him for the next Africa Cup, which will take place in Morocco, and the World Cup.
"Today I take responsibility for the choices. I had said that Morocco had to go at least to the semi-finals... I never hide, and we will take our responsibilities, at least mine. Today, I have failed; so we have to assume it," Walid Regragui had declared after Morocco’s elimination.
