Moroccan Singer Reveals Brief Marriage to Alleged Drug Lord "Escobar of the Desert"

Following the outbreak of the Lhaj Ahmed Benbrahim alias "Escobar of the Desert" case, the Malian incarcerated in the El Jadida prison since 2019 and transferred a few days ago to the Oukacha prison in Casablanca, Moroccan singer Latifa Raâfat makes revelations about her ex-husband.
In an Instagram live, Latifa Raâfat feels compelled to talk about her marriage to Lhaj Ahmed Benbrahim because of the harassment she and her daughter say they are victims of on social media. According to her, the Malian presented himself as a businessman who came to invest in Morocco when they first met. Only two weeks later, he would have asked for her hand in marriage. The two lovebirds get married, but this marriage will be short-lived: 4 months and 10 days. Ahmed’s "party" lifestyle, which she describes as "festive", would be the reason for their divorce. She also denied the information that her ex-husband had given her a villa. The Moroccan singer claims to have acquired it in 2005 before meeting the Malian. She also assured that she had never suspected her ex-spouse of being the "mastermind of a large international drug trafficking network".
Incarcerated at the El Jadida prison since 2019, Lhaj Ahmed Benbrahim was recently transferred to the Oukacha prison in Casablanca. This man, whose mother is of Moroccan origin, has brought down 25 individuals in his fall, including Said Naciri, president of Wydad de Casablanca, a member of parliament of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), and also president of the Prefectural Council of Casablanca, the president of the Oriental region, Abdenbi Bioui, a member of the PAM political bureau and Belkassem Mir, a former PAM deputy in the first chamber. Accused of international drug trafficking, money laundering, real estate spoliation, takeover of stolen vehicles, forgery and use of forgeries, etc., they have been placed in pre-trial detention.
