Morocco Assures Ample Food Reserves Amid Ukraine Crisis, Government Says

Government spokesman Mustapha Baitas commented on the Russia-Ukraine crisis, stating that it will have no impact on the supply of the domestic market.
At the end of the weekly cabinet meeting, Baitas commented on the situation in Ukraine and its possible repercussions on Morocco.
The official stressed that the situation is under control in Morocco thanks to the efforts made by the government to mitigate the crisis.
Morocco, he said, has sufficient food reserves, thanks to imports of necessary products such as flour. Imports of these products have strengthened Morocco’s reserves, he added.
Baitas also cited the country’s approach of subsidizing certain products to mitigate the crisis. "The bill is huge, but efforts continue to mitigate the impact of the crisis," he said.
