Morocco Approves Russian Beef Imports, Expanding Meat Supply Options

A veterinary certificate endorses the export of Russian beef to the Moroccan market. According to Sputnik News, this agreement would soon allow Russian-produced beef to be found on Moroccan plates.
As a major consumer of beef, Morocco now has a new supplier to further meet its needs. According to the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), the two countries have agreed on a veterinary certificate allowing Russian companies to export meat to the Moroccan market.
"Due to the long work that has been carried out since 2016 between Rosselkhoznadzor and the competent authority of Morocco, the procedure for admitting Russian beef to the Kingdom of Morocco has been completed. The Moroccan side has signed a veterinary certificate for the supply of beef from Russia," the statement said.
The same source indicates that Russian companies that have already successfully passed the inspection of the Moroccan Veterinary Service no longer have to wait. They will be able to "immediately start exporting meat to Morocco," it is specified.
It should be recalled that Morocco’s beef needs are estimated at several thousand tons per year. The kingdom, which imports this precious commodity from Europe, Mexico and Australia, will now also be able to count on Russia.
