Morocco and Spain Strengthen Ties with New Strategic Partnerships and Cooperation Agreements

Morocco and Spain have signed several cooperation agreements on the sidelines of the visit of King Felipe VI and his wife Queen Letizia on Wednesday and Thursday to the kingdom. Here are the details:
• Memorandum of Understanding establishing a multidimensional strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Spain.
• Protocol relating to the irrevocable donation of the Grand Théâtre Cervantes in Tangier.
• Agreement on cooperation in the fight against crime.
• Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of a strategic partnership in the field of energy.
• Memorandum of Understanding on the development of a third Morocco-Spain electrical interconnection.
• Memorandum of Understanding between the National Foundation of Museums (Morocco) and the Spanish Ministry of Culture and Sports for cooperation in the field of Museums.
• Memorandum of Understanding between the Royal Archives (Morocco) and the National Heritage of the Kingdom of Spain, for the organization at the Royal Palace in Madrid of an exhibition on the royal collections of the two countries.
• Advanced collaboration memorandum for the implementation of the trade and passenger flow facilitation device at the Strait of Gibraltar level.
• Memorandum of Understanding between Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and IBERIA Airlines.
• Memorandum of Understanding for mutual assistance and cooperation between the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC) and the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV - Spain).
The signing ceremony took place yesterday in the presence of the Head of Government Saad-Eddine El Othmani, the Presidents of the two Houses of Parliament, the King’s Advisors, members of the government, as well as the official delegation accompanying King Don Felipe VI of Spain.
