King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain to Make Official Visit to Morocco

Postponed many times, the official visit that the King of Spain, Felipe VI, is to make to Morocco will finally take place on Wednesday, February 13 and Thursday, February 14, confirms the Ministry of the Royal Household.
"The Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery announces that at the invitation of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, Their Majesties King Don Felipe VI and Queen Dona Letizia, Sovereigns of the Kingdom of Spain, will make an official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, on Wednesday and Thursday, February 13 and 14, 2019," the statement issued by the MAP said.
It further states that King Mohammed VI will have official talks with his guest and they will preside over the signing of agreements between the two countries. Then the king "will offer, at the Royal Palace in Rabat, an official dinner in honor of the Sovereigns of the Kingdom of Spain and the delegation accompanying them."
Initially scheduled for November 2017, this visit had been, according to the newspaper El Pais, postponed following King Mohammed VI’s decision to attend the African Union and European Union summit held in Côte d’Ivoire. Scheduled again for January 2018, it was canceled at the last minute by Morocco "without giving any explanations."
In addition to the Spanish sovereigns, several important ministers of the government are expected to take part in this visit, including the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, and the Minister of National Education.
