Morocco and Israel Sign Wrestling Cooperation Agreement, Plan Joint Competitions

The Royal Moroccan Federation of Associated Wrestlings (FRMLA) and the Olympic Committee of Israel have signed an agreement to consolidate their bilateral cooperation covering all areas of this sport.
This convention signed by Yael Arad, President of the Israeli Sports Committee and the President of the FRMLA, Fouad Maskout, aims to strengthen the practice of wrestling between the two countries, indicates a press release from the federation, specifying that the two entities plan to organize a friendly match and then official matches between the two national teams.
To this end, Morocco is taking part in the wrestling tournament scheduled for August 25 and 26 in Beer Sheva, Israel. A competition organized on the sidelines of the 50th anniversary of the massacre of 11 Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics. Eight athletes and ten other members will represent the kingdom at this tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, Abderrahim Beyyoud, head of the Moroccan liaison office in Israel, said that "after agreements in the political, land, industrial and many other fields, we are delighted with this exciting cooperation." Words echoed by Yael Arad, stressing that "after the Abraham Accords, sport is a wonderful way to deepen relations between countries and bring peoples closer together."
