Morocco and Israel Set to Establish Full Diplomatic Relations as Direct Flights Begin

Morocco and Israel will have "full diplomatic relations". This is at least what a diplomatic source affirms the day after the launch of direct flights between the two countries.
In a statement to the Times of Israel newspaper, a diplomatic source indicated that relations between Morocco and Israel "will be transformed into full diplomatic relations". A statement that comes after the launch of air links between the two countries. On Sunday, the airlines EL AL and Isair operated their first flights from Tel Aviv to Marrakech. These new routes follow discussions held by the Moroccan National Tourist Office for several months with Israeli tourism professionals, a statement from the ONMT said.
A convention has been signed between the office and EI AL for the promotion of the Moroccan destination. The airline will offer three flights per week between its Tel Aviv Ben Gurion base and Marrakech Menara airport. These flights will be operated on Boeing 737-900ER with a capacity of 16 passengers in Business class and 159 in Economy. From August 10, EL AL will also offer three weekly rotations to Mohammed V airport in Casablanca. Morocco expects the launch of flights from a third airline, Arkia, starting next September.
Morocco and Israel had signed on January 21 an agreement to launch direct flights between the two countries, without limitation on the number of flights and airlines that can operate the new route.
