Morocco and Israel Expand Cultural and Sports Ties, Plan Youth Exchanges

During this meeting, Esawi Frej and Mohamed Bensaid emphasized the strengthening of cooperation between their two countries in the cultural, sports and youth sectors. In this perspective, summer meetings between Israeli and Moroccan youth will be organized to allow them to discover the cultures of the two countries.

"I am happy to meet in Morocco a government that seeks to strengthen and deepen relations in all areas of life. The main objective of my visit to Morocco is to create business opportunities between the citizens of Morocco and Israel," Frej said in a statement cited in a note from the Israeli ministry.

The Israeli minister will also meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita and the Minister of Higher Education, Abdelatif Miraoui to strengthen university cooperation between the two countries and promote the exchange of scholarships for Moroccan and Israeli students.

The Israeli Minister of Justice, Gideon Saar, is also in Morocco for an official two-day visit during which he will meet with several Moroccan ministers and sign cooperation agreements in the field of justice. The two countries restored their diplomatic relations in December 2020 under the auspices of the United States.
