Israeli Ministers to Visit Morocco, Bolstering Diplomatic Ties

Israeli Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Justice, Gideon Saar, and his counterpart for Regional Cooperation, Issawi Frej, will make an official visit to Morocco from July 24 to 28. A trip that is part of the dynamic of strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The two Israeli officials are expected on Sunday and Monday in Morocco. The Minister of Regional Cooperation, Issawi Frej, a Muslim and former deputy of the left-wing Meretz party, will set foot on Moroccan soil on Sunday. He will be accompanied by a delegation of Jewish and Arab women journalists as part of a regional forum aimed at "strengthening the voice of women in the media," said the Israel Liaison Office in Rabat in a statement.
Morocco is "a model of coexistence between individuals of various religions," said the Israeli minister quoted in the press release, specifying that the objective of his mission is to "develop common initiatives in the field of culture, communications, sports".
As for the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Justice, Gideon Saar, his visit to the kingdom will focus on legal cooperation. A first since the normalization of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel in December 2020. On this occasion, the two parties will sign a partnership agreement in this field. This week, the Israeli army chief of staff, Aviv Kohavi, was also in Morocco. An opportunity for the two countries to strengthen their military cooperation.
