Morocco and Israel Sign Legal Cooperation Agreement to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Morocco and Israel signed on Tuesday in Rabat a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the legal field.
The agreement signed during a ceremony by the Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi and his Israeli counterpart Gideon Sa’ar, aims to promote bilateral relations in the legal field on the basis of the foundations of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, as well as to establish a consensus and identify areas of cooperation according to the capacities of the two parties.
The two countries have thus committed to strengthening the mutual understanding of their legal systems, strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in terms of harmonizing national legislation with international standards, international judicial assistance in civil and criminal matters.
In this sense, the document will facilitate the exchange of information and experiences, the organization of working meetings between experts and delegations of the two parties, Ouahbi stressed, noting that the achievement of justice and the rule of law necessarily involves the exchange of experiences and good practices in this area.
