Africa Morocco Link (AML) would have acquired for 2.4 million euros the Moroccan ship "Boraq" belonging to the Greek maritime group Attica Group, during the auction that took place on June 27 at the headquarters of the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA).
The catamaran was built by Austal and has been in service since 2000 under the name "Highspeed 3". In 2010, it was bought by Comarit, reports Puente de Mando.
The ship is 72 m long and 17.50 m wide and weighs 2,377 gross tons and 190 tons of deadweight. It has four MTU 16V595 engines, which allowed it to reach a speed of 42 knots when new. The "Boraq" has a capacity of 680 passengers and 70 cars.
