Morocco: Air traffic controllers’ discontent

The National Bureau of Air Traffic Controllers strongly denounces the deterioration of the social climate within the Office. The air traffic controllers urgently demand a legal framework for their profession before the transformation of the structure into a public limited company. Tensions are rising following the announcement of salary increases for air navigation electronics technicians, from which the controllers are excluded. The union branch condemns this lack of consultation and the non-respect of the agreements signed under the aegis of the government.

The union also points to irregularities in the payment of bonuses and the blocking of dialogue, in contradiction with the Labor Code. This situation raises fears of an increase in discontent in this vital sector for air safety and the climate of trust. Faced with this crisis, the role of the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, is now being scrutinized to ensure the maintenance of social peace and the continuity of air navigation.
