Morocco Aims to Double British Tourist Arrivals by 2027, Minister Announces at London Travel Show

In a context of reviving the tourism sector, Morocco has revised its prospects upwards for the British market. The kingdom indeed aims to double the number of arrivals from this country by 2027.

This objective was outlined at the World Travel Market (WTM) trade show, which is being held from November 7 to 9 in London. Speaking on this occasion, the Minister of Tourism, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, said that the tourism sector, a real driving force of the Moroccan economy, aims to regain the pre-Covid figures.

To this end, Morocco’s participation in this promotional event is "extremely important" as it comes in a recovery phase, she said, adding that thanks to the combined efforts of all the players and the government, the kingdom has already managed to recover more than 76% of tourist arrivals and more than 100% of tourism revenues.

Justifying Morocco’s presence at this show, the official said that England is now a large market, representing nearly 600,000 arrivals and more than 2 million overnight stays per year. In Europe, it is our third largest market in terms of tourists and the second in terms of overnight stays, she specified.

"Our long-term goal is to double the number of tourists visiting Morocco by 2030," Ammor assured, adding that for the British market in particular, "the goal is to double the number of tourists in the next four years."
