Morocco Advances to U20 AFCON Quarter-Finals with 3-0 Win Over Tanzania

After the draw against Ghana, the Atlas Lions take their destiny in hand and secure a comfortable victory by crushing the young Taïfa Stars of Tanzania at the Olympic stadium in Nouakchott. The score of this match counting for the 3rd day of the U20 AFCON is 3-0, thus allowing the Moroccan selection to qualify for the quarter-finals.
The Moroccan selection only had the choice between a draw or a victory to hope to continue the Mauritanian adventure. The challenge was great and the men of Aboub Zakaria rose to it brilliantly. The goals of the match were scored by Mehdi Moubarik in the 4th minute, Mohamed Amine Sahel in the 8th minute and Ayoub Mouloua in the 12th minute of play.
Thanks to this feat, Morocco takes the lead in Group C with 7 points, after two wins and one draw. It is ahead of Gambia, which has only 4 points after beating Ghana 2-1, who is in third place in the standings. Tanzania with 1 point is last in Group C.
If the Atlas Lions were able to maintain their advantage over Tanzania from the 12th minute of play until the end of the match, it is thanks to great tactical discipline and a good distribution on the field.
