Morocco Advances Plans for High-Speed Rail Station in Agadir

Things are taking shape for the construction of a TGV station in Agadir. Proof of this, the expropriation procedure for the land to host the infrastructure has been initiated.
The Minister of Equipment and Transport, Abdelkader Amara, signed a decree authorizing the expropriation of a plot of land for public utility purposes. This text authorizes the construction of a new generation station, on an area of 4 hectares, in the commune of Agadir, prefecture of Agadir Ida-Outanane. The Agadir TGV station will be served by the high-speed trains (LGV).
In 2019, King Mohammed VI had mentioned the need to nurture reflections on the establishment of a rail link between Marrakech and Agadir, during his speech on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the Green March.
