Morocco Advances Plans for High-Speed Rail Link Between Rabat and Fez

The process of realizing the TGV connecting Rabat to Fez is on the right track. The National Railway Office (ONCF) announced the completion of the feasibility study phase.
This project is part of the implementation of the national plan for the development of railway infrastructure, which aims to connect the main cities of Morocco and several provinces in the north and south by 2040, the office recalled.
The first phase of the study focuses on the construction of a high-speed rail line connecting Rabat and Meknès. Ultimately, the new TGV will allow the office to offer its rail services in 43 cities by 2040, compared to 23 cities currently, the same source points out.
Moreover, the office aims, thanks to its various high-speed rail projects, to reach 132 million passengers in 20 years, compared to 38.2 million in 2019.
