Moroccans Protest Israeli Actions at Jerusalem Mosque, Burn Flag in Rabat

Dozens of Moroccans demonstrated on Friday in Rabat to denounce the Israeli intervention in East Jerusalem, on the esplanade of the mosque, which left at least 153 Palestinian injured.
The protesters, responding to the call of the Moroccan Front for Support to Palestine and against normalization, gathered in front of the Parliament headquarters in Rabat and chanted slogans hostile to Israel, such as: "Palestine is our duty. Normalization (with Israel) is a betrayal," "Resistance is the solution," reports EFE.
In several videos posted on social media, we can see these protesters burning an Israeli flag to protest against the clashes that took place on the esplanade of the mosque in East Jerusalem, which left 156 injured, including 153 Palestinian civilians and three Israeli police officers. These events are taking place in a context of growing tension in the region, after a week of intense violence in the West Bank, between the Israeli and Palestinian armies.
Morocco normalized its diplomatic relations with Israel in December 2020, under the aegis of the United States under Donald Trump, who recognized in exchange the kingdom’s sovereignty over the Sahara. Morocco has always stressed that the restoration of relations with Israel would not affect its position in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
