Moroccan YouTuber Sentenced to 2 Years for Privacy Violations and Defamation

The owner of the YouTube channel "Sans frontières", Mohammed Enan, prosecuted for disseminating images of people without their consent and defamation, was sentenced to two years in prison by the Court of Appeal of Casablanca.
The defendant, Mohammed Enan, had received a sentence of one and a half years in prison in the first instance for the same acts. He is being prosecuted for "dissemination and distribution of a composition of images of persons without their consent, allegations and false facts with the intention of harming the privacy of persons and defaming them".

The court upheld the decision on appeal on Monday, sentencing him to two years in prison for defamation. The judge also decided to "prohibit the online dissemination" on this channel, of "blogs and the publication of videos on YouTube and other social media for three years from the day the prison sentence ends".
According to the victims, the owner of the channel had launched "defamatory campaigns" against them by posting several videos of them on YouTube, with the intention of damaging their image.
