Moroccan YouTuber Jailed Ahead of Trial for Defaming Judges

The owner of the YouTube channel "Bila Houdoud" has been placed in pre-trial detention in a defamation case. His trial is scheduled for February 2.
Defamation, slander, humiliation of constituted bodies and publication of photos of people without their consent are the charges against the YouTuber M.A. After his custody, he was brought before the competent Prosecutor’s Office before the investigating judge ordered his pre-trial detention.
Last August, the Judges’ Club had denounced the video content published by the channel of the accused person for "damaging the reputation of certain judges and preventing them from performing their duty."
In a statement, they had condemned these practices and had called for "the firm application of the law against those responsible for this channel who are at the service of certain agendas..." According to the judges, these people "are only looking for buzz through defamatory content and think that the fact of masking their identities will allow them to avoid prosecution."
