Moroccan YouTuber Released After Spreading COVID-19 Misinformation

Her arrest dates back to March when she "published false content through information systems and opposed the execution of work ordered by the public authority". In a video posted on YouTube, she had encouraged her many Moroccan subscribers not to comply with the prevention instructions related to the health crisis, spreading the idea that the coronavirus pandemic was a vast lie.
These remarks led to a series of complaints and resulted in the arrest of Mi Naïma. At the end of her trial in April, she was sentenced to one year in prison. At the age of 48, she should leave prison around June 16, thus benefiting from a reduced sentence from the Casablanca Court of Appeal.
