Moroccan YouTuber Faces Legal Action Over Alleged Anti-Amazigh Comments

About fifteen political, cultural, associative and academic personalities have filed a complaint against a YouTuber who made remarks considered insulting and defamatory towards the Amazighs. A lawyer at the Rabat bar is in charge of conducting the necessary legal proceedings.
YouTuber Ilyas El Malki is in the sights of defenders of Amazigh identity and culture. They accuse him of having disseminated insulting, defamatory and discriminatory content towards the Imazighens and their culture on the web, reports Assabah. Faced with the wave of indignation aroused by his publication, the YouTuber published another content in which he explained that his remarks did not target the Amazighs of Morocco but of Algeria. He also says he recognizes that the Amazighs are the first inhabitants of the kingdom and major contributors to the economic activity of the kingdom.
But El Malki fails to convince. As a result, political, cultural, associative and academic personalities have filed a complaint against him. The lawyer for the plaintiffs, a lawyer in Rabat, will rely on the content disseminated by the YouTuber to support the complaint against Ilyas El Malki, considering that he justifies reprehensible acts by law. El Malki will therefore have to answer for his actions before the Moroccan justice system.
