Moroccan YouTuber Faces Human Trafficking Charges, Court Hearing Delayed

Suspected of being involved in a "human trafficking" case, the Casablanca YouTuber Reda Bouzidi, known by the pseudonym "Oueld Chinwiya", will soon be informed of his fate.
On Friday, the court of first instance of Aïn Sebaâ, in Casablanca, postponed to December 2 the examination of the case of the Casablanca YouTuber Reda Bouzidi, known by the pseudonym "Oueld Chinwiya", favorably responding to the request of the lawyer who has recently agreed to defend the accused. A request motivated by the need to become familiar with the file and prepare the pleading.
"Our profession, in accordance with the oath we have taken, requires us to defend any person, regardless of the nature of the crime committed," his lawyer told Hespress, assuring that the Casablanca Bar Association shares his opinion.
Oueld Chinwiya’s legal troubles stem from the appearance of audio recordings attributed to him that would tend to show that he is involved in a "human trafficking" case. He had initially appeared at liberty, accompanied by his mother, his brothers and another woman. They are accused of defamation, invasion of privacy, insults, threats and disturbances in a public establishment. But on November 20, he was arrested and then detained in the Oukacha prison (Casablanca), as well as a TikTok user known by the pseudonym "Bent Abbas".
Oueld Chinwiya is being prosecuted for contempt of the judicial police, insults, defamation and invasion of privacy by disseminating accusations via computer systems. He is also accused of having caused disturbances in a police station and threatened to commit a crime.
