Moroccan Women Face Backlash Over Dating Show Appearance

The Moroccan participants in the dating show "Qesma w Naseeb", broadcast on YouTube, are currently the target of an intense campaign of denigration on social media.
Malika, a participant in the first season, and Wijdane, a candidate in the second edition, are accused of tarnishing the image of Moroccan women through their participation in this program.
These virulent criticisms have pushed Malika to speak out publicly about the consequences of her television adventure. She thus revealed having suffered family conflicts and threats due to her search for a partner in the show.
Wijdane, for her part, has not escaped the lynching on social media. Her behavior, deemed contrary to morals during the competition, has provoked the indignation of some Moroccan Internet users.
It should be recalled that "Qesma w Naseeb" is a reality TV program that brings together young men and women from different Arab countries on an isolated island, with the aim of finding love. It is filmed in Turkey.
