Moroccan Woman Murdered by Ex-Husband in Spain, Sparking Outrage Over Domestic Violence

A 44-year-old Moroccan man was arrested after stabbing to death his 46-year-old ex-wife, also of Moroccan origin, and injuring one of their children who tried to defend his mother.
Stabbed to death by her Moroccan ex-husband in a building on Calle José Espronceda in Adeje, in the Armeñime neighborhood, the Moroccan woman is the fourth victim of gender-based violence in Spain since the beginning of the year, reports COPE.
The act was denounced by the Forum against Gender-Based Violence in Tenerife. "More than dismayed, we are saddened to see that the law still does not create the conditions to protect women and guarantee their safety... We are outraged and angry for the victims, the families and the children who witness, powerless, these acts of violence," said Ángela Martín, the spokesperson for the Forum.
