Moroccan Woman Jailed for Forging EU Residence Permits in Schengen Visa Scam

Married and mother of three children, the woman was promising her clients the European dream, by offering them residence permits facilitating access to the Schengen area, in exchange for large sums of money.
According to Assabah, the defendant was sentenced to a term of two and a half years in prison, accompanied by a fine of 50,000 dirhams. She was ordered to return the sum of 314,000 dirhams to the victims and to pay material compensation of 20,000 dirhams to each of the civil parties.
Charged with fraud and forgery, the 32-year-old woman had promised her victims a residence permit that would allow them access to Italian territory. The daily adds that she had signed a debt acknowledgment, in exchange for large sums of money that she had extorted from her victims in several installments. A complaint was filed by the plaintiffs, after the woman failed to keep her promise and refused to return the sums of money.
