A Moroccan woman enters the global diamond elite
Dîna Slaoui marks a historic milestone by becoming the first Moroccan woman admitted as a full member and shareholder of the Antwerp Diamond Exchange. With fifteen years of experience, she now intends to build a commercial and ethical bridge between the North African market and the global diamond hub.
The expert joins the very exclusive circle of the oldest diamond exchange in the world, an institution traditionally dominated by male and European players. As the sole representative of Morocco within this elite, Dîna Slaoui claims to have never suffered from discrimination related to her gender or origin, stating that in this demanding field, "one is judged on one’s behavior, work and professionalism". Her co-option is based on a reputation for reliability built patiently between Casablanca and Belgium, explains HLN.be.
Beyond personal success, this admission carries a strategic ambition: to structure a direct channel between North Africa and Antwerp. Dîna Slaoui wishes to democratize access to certified stones for African clients, guaranteeing high standards of traceability and transparency. She aims to reduce the gap between the major trading centers and the Moroccan market, thus offering an ethical and secure alternative to traditional circuits.
Graduated in finance and communication in Paris and technically trained at HRD Antwerp, she now combines the hats of trader and certified expert with the Moroccan customs. As she prepares the opening of new offices dedicated to both wholesale and retail, her approach aims to make diamonds more accessible and better understood, while maintaining absolute rigor on the quality of each unique piece.
