Moroccan Woman Arrested for Killing Imam Husband Over Polygamy Dispute
A septuagenarian put an end to the life of her spouse, an imam in a mosque in Fès a few years her junior, who was desperately seeking to take a second wife. She was arrested along with her twenty-year-old daughter, for voluntary homicide.
Upset by the ambitions of her husband, who wanted to rejuvenate himself in the company of a new woman twenty years his junior, the suspect, accompanied by her daughter in her twenties, committed a vile crime, by slitting the throat of her spouse in a scenario similar to those of Daesh.
In an attempt to divert the attention of neighbors and investigators, the woman left the marital home, which adjoins the mosque where the victim preached, before returning there a few hours later, pretending to discover the body for the first time. The man died in the ambulance.
Faced with the investigators, the suspect put forward the hypothesis of a home robbery perpetrated by three hooded individuals, who would have beaten him to death before slitting his throat in front of the helpless gaze of his wife and daughter. But, it was without counting on the vigilance and flair of the police elements.
Relying on the results of the autopsy and the DNA tests carried out on the victim’s body, the judicial police brigade finally managed to extract confessions from the two suspects. The victim, who would have lost consciousness after being assaulted by his daughter with an iron bar, was slit alive by his wife.
