Moroccan Expat Sentenced to Life for Murdering Couple in Extramarital Affair Case

The criminal chamber near the Court of Appeal of Nador sentenced a man to life imprisonment on charges of premeditated voluntary manslaughter and extramarital relationship.
On July 29, the lifeless bodies of a couple of Moroccans living abroad were discovered by the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie at their home in Driouech.
According to the daily Assabah, the sudden disappearance of an individual, originally from Meknes, who was renting an independent room attached to the couple’s home, intrigued the investigators. A national arrest warrant was then issued against him.
In his statements, the individual admitted to having had an extramarital affair with the deceased’s wife. She had gotten into the habit of administering sedatives to her husband whenever she wanted to join her lover.
But things had gone wrong the day the husband had woken up, surprising his wife in the arms of her lover. The latter had then strangled him by hitting his head several times against the floor. Exasperated by the woman’s cries, the man had seized a knife and inflicted fatal blows on her, before fleeing.
