Moroccan Woman Arrested for Bigamy in Marrakech Region

The Royal Gendarmerie has arrested a woman accused of bigamy, in Tahanaout, a commune located in the Marrakech region.
The Royal Gendarmerie services of Tahanaout have apprehended a woman married to two men, reports the newspaper Assabah.
This arrest follows a complaint filed by her husband with the Tahanaout authorities for adultery.
Indeed, the husband was informed by his relatives that his wife was having a relationship with her lover in Tahanaout, in the Marrakech region.
Once seized of the case, the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie conducted an investigation that allowed them to discover that the woman had a second home with a member of the Royal Armed Forces. Together, they had a child. With a false certificate of celibacy, the 30-year-old woman was able to legally contract a marriage.
Questioned, the first husband stated that his wife used to leave the marital home before returning a few days later. However, she had not returned since her last escape, which lasted three years.
Pending her trial, the accused is currently in detention at the local prison of L’Oudaya in Marrakech.
