Moroccan Winger Oussama Idrissi Joins Pachuca After Sevilla Release

Oussama Idrissi owes his arrival at Pachuca to Santiago and Christian Gimenez. The two led the negotiations and advocated for the Moroccan’s integration into the Mexican club.
Oussama Idrissi was already on Pachuca’s radar, but his value did not allow the club to secure his services, Armando Martinez, the club’s president, told Criterio. "We were looking for a player with these characteristics. The negotiation first took place with an agent we know, but he is a player who, due to his value at Sevilla, was very difficult to recruit," he explained.
And he added: "We were lucky that Sevilla terminated his contract and that he was free. We made a big effort to have him." Approached by the Tuzos, Idrissi contacted Santiago Giménez, his former teammate at Feyenoord, who reassured him. "What do you want me to tell you? I grew up there and my father was an idol in this club," he told him.
Santiago also convinced Pachuca to secure the Moroccan’s services. "What he told us at the end tipped the scales in favor of Oussama," admits Armando Martínez. Christian Chaco Giménez, Santi’s father, also praised the Moroccan to the club’s board of directors. "Chaco told us we were going to bring in a great player," he added.
