Moroccan Wedding Chaos: First Wife Crashes Ceremony, Groom Arrested

A wedding ceremony was cut short in Tangier following the intervention of law enforcement, resulting in the arrest of the groom. The incident erupted when a woman, claiming to be his first wife, burst in during the celebration and ululations.
Accompanied by her 8-year-old son, the woman in her thirties intervened in the middle of the festivities. According to the newspaper Assabah, she violently confronted the groom, publicly revealing their marriage and his paternity, while hurling insults. This announcement stunned the guests and the second wife, who was unaware of the situation and suffered a nervous breakdown from the shock.
The situation prompted the reception hall manager to alert the authorities. Police officers, quickly on the scene, apprehended the groom – described as a "Casanova" in initial reports – and placed him in custody.
Preliminary investigations indicate an attempt at a second marriage without following legal procedures. The man allegedly obtained the required "certificate of celibacy" through statements deemed dubious. The investigation continues to clarify the facts.
