Moroccan University Sex Scandal: 5 Professors Face Charges in Settat

The Court of Appeal of Settat decided, on Wednesday, to prosecute one of the five professors involved in the case of sexual harassment at the Hassan 1ᵉʳ University, in custody. The four others are being prosecuted, on provisional release.
The story goes back to last September at the University of Settat where a law professor would have given good grades in exchange for sexual relations with female students, reports Telquel, adding that the investigations of the BNPJ made it possible to identify four other professors who would have acted as intermediaries in this extortion, after a complaint filed by a student.
Last Wednesday, the five professors involved were referred to the Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Settat. The judge decided to prosecute an economics professor in custody, while the other four are being prosecuted on provisional release.
In the wake of this, the dean of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences of the Hassan Iᵉʳ University presented his resignation. He would have anticipated his dismissal by the Ministry of Higher Education, notes Telquel.
