University President Faces Potential Sanctions in Settat "Sex for Grades" Scandal

The president of Hassan 1st University could also be sanctioned in the so-called "sex for good grades" case in Settat. The five professors charged in this case will have to appear in court next Monday.
Trouble is looming for the president of Hassan 1st University. The Minister of Higher Education, Abdellatif Miraoui, could impose a heavy sanction on her if the justice system implicates her moral responsibility in the sextortion scandal shaking the Faculty of Legal Sciences in Settat. Moreover, the central administration of the supervisory ministry blames her for not taking the necessary measures before the scandal broke out, reports Al Akhbar.
This case had come to light last September. Screenshots revealed that a teacher from the aforementioned faculty had demanded sexual favors from a student in exchange for good grades. This prompted the supervisory ministry to instruct the General Inspectorate to conduct an internal investigation, at the end of which the university professor accused of sexual harassment towards his students was suspended.
In parallel, an investigation was opened by the National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ). This investigation proved fruitful: five professors involved in the so-called "sex for good grades" case are being prosecuted for sexual blackmail and human trafficking. At the request of their lawyers, their trial initially scheduled for December 1st has been postponed to December 8th.
