Moroccan Teen Wins International English Competition, Earns Scholarship

Fatima El Azzaoui, the young Moroccan high school student from Tinghir, came out first in an international competition thanks to her mastery of English.
The American NGO Rustic Pathways organized a contest in which the young Moroccan participated. Contestants were called upon to speak in English about the problems facing the world and propose alternative solutions.
According to El Azzaoui, "more than a hundred other students took part in this final phase, but at their own expense. I am happy to have been able to win this scholarship."
Initially, it all started with the young girl sending a video, which seduced the NGO officials. This earned her selection among 25 other students around the world to benefit from a scholarship granted by the Program.
It allowed her to stay for two weeks in Thailand and Vietnam. And it was precisely in the latter country that the epic competition took place.
Four projects were selected to receive $10,000 in funding. After the confrontations, it was El Azzaoui’s group that rose to the top.
