Moroccan Teachers to Receive 3,000 Dirham Bonus with March Salary

Good news for teachers and civil servants of the Ministry of National Education! They will receive, in addition to their March salary, an exceptional transfer of 3,000 dirhams. This amount corresponds to the first tranche of the salary increase agreed on December 10, 2023.
It’s official: teachers and civil servants of the Ministry of National Education will indeed receive a salary increase, in accordance with the agreement signed last December. This first tranche, amounting to 1,500 dirhams, will be paid at the end of March or at the latest at the beginning of April, reports Assabah.
The ministry, under pressure from the unions, has worked tirelessly to accelerate the payment of this increase. The administrative procedures have been finalized and the legal provisions taken so that the teachers can benefit from this windfall before the end of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr, scheduled for April 10 in Morocco.
The December 10, 2023 agreement put an end to a long series of strikes and sit-ins that threatened the school year. It provides, in addition to the salary increase, the enactment of a new status for teachers.
The second tranche of the salary increase will be paid in January 2025. Teachers hope that this is just the beginning of a lasting improvement in their working conditions.
