Moroccan Teachers Win 1,500 Dirham Monthly Raise in Government Deal

An agreement was reached this Sunday in Rabat between the government and the main trade union centers, aimed at improving the remuneration of teachers.
The signing took place in the presence of Aziz Akhannouch, Head of Government, and several ministers, as well as representatives of the most influential unions in the country, such as the Moroccan Union of Labor (UMT) and the Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT).
During a press briefing, Chakib Benmoussa, Minister of National Education, welcomed this agreement, announcing a substantial salary increase of 1,500 dirhams per month for all civil servants in the education sector. This measure, according to him, resolves several problems already raised and provides a concrete response to long-standing demands from teachers and employees in the sector.
The official also emphasized the positive impact of this agreement on the school environment, thus promoting a serene resumption of educational activities. He sees this agreement as a crucial step in meeting the expectations of families and ensuring educational continuity for students.
This renewal, according to the minister, should also catalyze the overall reform of the Moroccan education system, by mobilizing all the actors, teachers and administrative staff, around this common objective.
