Moroccan Teacher Arrested for Wife’s Murder After Discovering Alleged Affair

A 47-year-old teacher working in a school in the commune of Jemaat Hodrane in the province of Khemisset has murdered his wife, a 34-year-old seamstress, in front of her children in Tiflet. Arrested, he claims to have discovered erotic exchanges between his wife and another man on a social network.
The arrest of the perpetrator of the crime took place at a checkpoint at the entrance of the city as he was trying to flee, reports Assabah. During his interrogation, he confessed. He recounts having discovered sexually explicit messages that his wife and her alleged lover were exchanging on social networks. Stung, he plans the murder of his wife. He slit her throat last Wednesday in front of her two children aged 5 and 7. The murder weapon was seized by the judicial police elements and made available to the public prosecutor’s office near the Court of Appeal of Rabat.
In order to succeed in locating the man suspected of having had an extramarital affair with the victim, the judicial police intend to ask the prosecutor to extend the custody of the alleged murderer. This will allow the investigators to solve this case. On the orders of the Attorney General of the King, an autopsy of the victim’s body will be carried out and witnesses will be heard.
The accused is being prosecuted for premeditated murder and attempted flight.
