Elderly Moroccan Fugitive Arrested After 7-Year Manhunt for 2013 Murder

The judicial police of Salé arrested a 75-year-old woman in connection with a murder that dates back to 2013. The case has been referred to the investigating judge.
The 75-year-old woman is accused of a murder she allegedly committed seven years ago. Wanted nationwide, she fell into the police net, purely by chance, reports the daily Assabah, adding that she was brought before the Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Rabat, by the brigade of the judicial police of Bettana-Tabriket in Salé.
The facts date back to 2013, in front of a cafe where the accused had pushed the victim who ended up on the ground, before dying at the Moulay Abdellah provincial hospital in Salé.
During her interrogation, the accused rejected the accusation of premeditated murder, preferring that of a blow causing death, without intent to give it, in order to avoid heavy sentences.
The case has been entrusted to the investigating judge for a thorough investigation and to possibly arrest the people who provided her protection during her flight and at the time of the crime, specified the same source.
It should be noted that the victim’s family having always demanded her presence at the negotiating table, the reconciliation attempt wanted by the accused never took place. The woman did not submit to it, fearing being arrested by the police, the newspaper reports.
