Moroccan Student Missing After Attempting Swim to Ceuta

Sofian Boydo, a 24-year-old Moroccan from Taza, has been missing at sea since Saturday, as he tried to reach Ceuta by swimming. His family, without news of him, is desperately searching for him.
The Moroccan decided to swim to Ceuta with a fellow unfortunate who, having found himself exhausted in the middle of the sea, turned back. Sofian therefore continued the journey alone. But since Saturday, he has not given any sign of life.
His worried family has launched an SOS via the local newspaper El Faro de Ceuta to find him. For the moment, there is no indication that the young Moroccan has been rescued at sea and placed in quarantine.
Like several young Moroccans, Sofian, a student, decided to immigrate illegally to Spain via Ceuta, at the risk of his life. Cases of disappearances and deaths at sea have multiplied in recent months, after the closure of borders due to the health crisis.
